SA activation agency appointed for Cricket World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed local activation and event management agency, Maverick Experience Exhilarator, as the single supplier to integrate the stadium environment into the entertainment arena, as well as all sponsor services and other activations relating to the 2011 Cricket World Cup across 13 stadiums in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The South African agency won in a five-way pitch to win the account, reportedly the first time that the ICC has appointed one agency.

"Over the last 11 years, we have deliberately built our business around sustainable growth and this appointment is testament to the fact that there is a place on the global stage for a real, added value service that builds brands effectively and efficiently," says Andrew Ross, joint MD of Maverick.
