Moshito adds music business workshops
Successful workshops were run in 2008 in Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng and this year the group hopes to target Tshwane/Motsweding, West Rand (including Soweto), Joburg Central and other provinces.
“It's very important that we build a robust network of music professionals throughout the country and into the continent,” says Walters.
“For us, the September event is the culmination of everything that we do as an organisation from year-to-year,” continues Moshito chairperson, Andre Le Roux. “Already the event has grown substantially in size. In 2008, the number of delegates grew from 635 in 2007 to 728, with representatives from the nine provinces, 11 African countries, Europe, Australia and Brazil. The expo increased to 43 exhibitors from 29 in 2007 and more are expected this year.
“We have every intention of turning Moshito into a global brand that is recognised around the world as the premier African music market,” concludes Le Roux
Registration for delegates and exhibitors opened on 1 July 2009. For more information go to www.moshito.co.za.
