Weaving their inimitable magic in record time, the Loudfire team transformed a void - a blank space without substance - into a fully operational, all-inclusive world-class restaurant epitomising panache and class. Enter... Cotton Club: ‘a booming 20s' extravaganza. This remarkable ability to seemingly create something from nothing is indicative of the sublime wizardry that is the power of ‘mobile'...

The Great Gatsbyish Cotton Club oozes luxurious affluence and hedonism. Reminiscent of the flourishing ‘post-World-War-I' years in America; the sumptuousness of Cotton Club echoes this era's unapologetic indulgence and classical respectability.

As the live band - comprised of the crème-de-la-crème of local musicians and top jazz vocalists - takes the stage and improvises new melodies, the jazz-era ambience gathers momentum. Guests can easily envisage the silhouetted apparition of Glenn Miller on the elevated stage, as they dance the night away to the swinging two-beat rhythm of Cotton Club.

Engulfing the room, massive art-deco columns - illuminated by rich, amber bead-lighting - border lavish linen-draped dinner tables. The extravagant crystal glassware and candelabra, tea-lights, plush cushioning and magnificent silverware are washed in purple and green hues. The Cotton Club menu is reflective of Parisian influence, with infused cuisine of multiple courses interspersed with sorbet to clear one's palate. Butler service (platter to plate) fuels this heavily artistic context with a strong semblance of drama. Butlers are staged actors employing gestures and signals to politely avoid intrusion. These silent reassurances evoke a sense of belonging, suggestive of membership.

And, then, the illusion, like a vapour evaporates... the ‘booming 20s' of Cotton Club disappears. Such is the magic of ‘mobile'... Loudfire... ‘designer entertaining' and ‘experiential eventing' in a matter of hours.
