‘Phenomenal sales’ mark Getaway’s birthday issue
Getaway's 15th anniversary issue proved a winner at the newsstands, "exceeding all expectations" by streaking through the psychological 100 000 circulation mark to deliver a circulation of 102 548 for the month, according to publisher, Stirling Kotze.
The April issue drew on a decade and half of articles covering the top destinations and activities on the continent to feature 'the 15 best' in 15 different categories. The mix was clearly highly popular with its readers: the newsstand sale of 65 903 was a remarkable 41 percent increase on the average newsstand sales for the previous 12 months.
Barring December and January holiday issues, which traditionally have the highest sales, Getaway's April issue is the best-selling issue in the magazine's 15-year history, Kotze reported.
