Khanyi Dhlomo's Destiny with Media24

Media24 and Khanyi Dhlomo announced yesterday, Wednesday, 11 July 2007, the formation of a joint venture, Ndalo Media*, a media company in which Dhlomo and Media24 will each hold a 50% share. Destiny magazine will be the first of a number of ventures to be launched by Ndalo Media.

Destiny will allegedly be the country's first high-end women's magazine combining substantial business content with fashion, beauty and lifestyle. It is aimed at accomplished, self-assured, affluent and stylish South African women who are professionals, businesswomen and entrepreneurs managing multiple roles and multiple identities. Destiny will cater to the business and lifestyle interests of women of all race groups aged 25 – 55, with 35 being the average age.

Dhlomo, who recently returned from the US, will be the driving force behind Destiny in her role as founding editor of the publication and MD of Ndalo Media.

No stranger to South African media, Dhlomo was editor of True Love magazine for 10 years where she not only doubled the magazine's readership and circulation figures, but also received accolades including the AdVantage Editor of the Year award in 2001. True Love was also voted the Consumer Magazine of the Year by AdVantage in 2001. In 2003, she was named one of the most influential women in media by The Media.

Since 2003, Dhlomo has been abroad, first in Paris where she was head of South African Tourism in France and then in the US, where she completed an MBA at Harvard Business School.

Destiny magazine is scheduled to go on sale at the end of October 2007.
