Winners are determined by some 46 000 readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine in the USA, who make their choice from the hotels and resorts, cities and islands they have visited in the past year, as well as cruise ships and airlines they have travelled on.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town swept the board among the Top 15 Hotels in Africa - coming in at number one, while Steenberg in the Constantia valley got the nod as one of the top ten destinations on the African continent, in the category Top 25 Resorts & Safari Camps in Africa. Singita is the only safari operator to have two of their South African products listed this year - Singita Kruger National Park and Singita Sabi Sand, with these each taking second and third places respectively among the Top 25 Resorts & Safari Camps in Africa.
