Table Mountain Cableway closes amid coronavirus pandemic

In response to President Cyril Ramaphosa's request for the nation to act in a responsible manner and to work with Government to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) will be closed to all visitors until after Easter, or until greater clarity is given on the management and containment of the virus.

“As one of the leading attraction in Africa and the Indian Ocean, we believe that it is our duty to act responsibly as a tourism operator under these extreme circumstances.

"As the number of confirmed cases continue to rise, we will continue to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the spread of the virus," says Wahida Parker, managing director of TMACC.

TMACC has put arrangements in place for visitors who have already purchased tickets, to use these tickets at a later date or to apply for a refund. Visit the website for more information on this process.
