Sweet potato on McCain Tribute to Good Taste menu
In an unusual twist, the 2011 McCain Tribute to Good Taste competition requires chefs to be innovative by challenging them to create a starter, main course and dessert recipe for six people, with each dish incorporating the bright orange McCain Alternatives Sweet Potato range of straight or crinkle cut chips or chunks.
There are no other requirements, conditions or stipulations - any protein or branded vegetable products can be used, as long the as the bright orange sweet potato is featured. Entries close 17 February 2011, so participants need to enter soon.
Four finalists will compete on 15 March for the grand prize of R7500 plus a floating trophy and guaranteed publicity at Hostex, which is on at the Sandton Convention Centre from 13 - 16 March.
