Fashion and fine furniture in exhibition

Two established and creative South African designers, David Tlale and Charles Storr, are to stage a collaborative exhibition at Momo Gallery in Johannesburg.

Titled Agony and Ecstasy, the African-contemporary designer exhibition opens on 6 August 2009 and concludes its run on 31 August.

Inspired by design, architecture, art and fashion, this exhibition is definitely not to be missed.

Tlale is already a big favourite in South Africa's fashion industry, whereas Storr is an established furniture designer.

Storr's home-grown label stands out from the rest. His unique take on couture is one that embodies beauty without pretence and shuns harshness for calm.

Dynamic in its response to local and global influences, Tlale prioritises style, coupled with an expert use of fabrics.

Garments of impeccable quality are created as a result of the craftsmanship of exquisite materials, conceived from meticulous stylistic research.

Tlale also uses his fashion flair to attract both men and women who want their fashion to be bold, yet elegant.

He is known throughout the fashion community for his exquisite wedding dresses, evening wear, men's fashion and for his new line, Exodus, which is for both men and women.

To go along with Tlali's numerous fashion show appearances, he has collected a number of prestigious awards.

Storr is a renowned designer who was born and bred in SA. His passion for the country and the continent as a whole is evident in the way his fine furniture is infused with a subtle and sophisticated Africanness.

Storr has designed and produced exquisite furniture using the skills of a master designer.

In drawing up an exclusive furniture exhibition, this established and much- respected artisan has worked with a number of fabric houses to produce fabulous limited editions - with quality and originality as the main objective.
