National Police Commissioner, Riah Phiyega to address delegates at the CGCSA Summit 2013

The Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) is pleased to announce that the National Police Commissioner, Riah Phiyega will address attendees at the CGCSA Summit 2013.

The commissioner will be speaking on mitigating the impact of business crimes, looking at how business and the South African Police Services can work together.

The latest retail crime statistics show that shopping centre armed robbery, including retailers and jewellers, increased by 60% from 274 incidents to 438 incidents with the financial loss increasing from R20.5 million to R38.7 million in the 2012/2013 financial year.

The summit, themed "Energising the Industry- Building Sustainable Businesses in the New Normal", will take place on the 15 and 16 of October at The Forum, Bryanston, Johannesburg.

The CGCSA Summit advisory panel, consisting of top executives from a number of major South African consumer goods industry businesses, have put their heads together to bring delegates world-class speakers who will contribute their expertise to a rich and relevant agenda, reflecting the true expectations of retailers, suppliers and third-party service providers.

"We are really excited and looking forward to Riah's keynote address. We at CGCSA have plans in place to combat the increasing crime in the retail sector," says CGCSA CEO, Gwarega Mangozhe. "This year the CGCSA Summit is all about keeping it real - we will look at the burning issues facing us every day and provide delegates with practical solutions to their most pressing business imperatives."

Bookings can be made on the dedicated summit website www.cgcsa2013.co.za for both interested delegates and businesses wishing to take advantage of the innovative exhibition.
