SACTWU launches designer unit
South Africa's apparel Trade Union, the South African Clothing and Textile Workers Union (SACTWU) has launched a unit to provide a "voice" to designers. The new unit, called the South African Fashion Designers' Institute (SAFDI), will have representation in all of the provinces.
Designers who become members of SAFDI will be able to tap into SACTWU's institutional knowledge and influence within the apparel sector.
