New head joins FEDHASA
Nikki Akanbi has been appointed executive officer of the inland region of the Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa (FEDHASA).
Akanbi, previously employed with the Johannesburg Tourism Company as Business Tourism Executive – Africa, is familiar with the tourism industry, having worked in various related positions.
“In fact, I started in hospitality at the coalface,” she says, “as trainee manager at McDonalds! My main target is to grow membership of FEDHASA Inland in all five provinces that we represent, by giving people confidence in our brand. In this way we will help make FEDHASA the leading tourism industry association in South Africa.”
Akanbi holds a diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of the North West and is currently enrolled for a marketing diploma at the Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management.
Amongst others, she has worked for Vodacom SA and The Oliver Tambo Foundation.
