Makeover for SA motoring site

IOL's commercial GM Lawrence Brown says the new look and feel of motoring.co.za now has a full classified advertising section with an e-commerce engine for users to search for cars and motorcycles or to place their own adverts online. It also has its own motoring/motorcycling news section.

"Independent News & Media can now use the global reach of its digital and print products through a range of innovative digital services to put IOL in a strong position in the classified advertising market," Brown comments.

Les Stephenson, editor of motoring.co.za, adds, "This new Classifieds site took a serious amount of work to develop and create and I regard it as a tremendously important addition to our website.

Linage listings

"Motoring.co.za's Classifieds will use listings from vehicle dealers and private sellers," Brown continues, "but, in addition, users will have access to searchable classified linage listings from all the Independent group's print publications.” Motoring.co.za reports 200 000 individual users per month.

"The site will aggregate those listings into a handy, user-friendly tool to search with key-words, by region, by publication or by all three."

Many additional categories will provide a real 'one-stop shop' for vehicle purchases and associated services. The motoring.co.za Classifieds tool will help users to:
