New Blackberry smartphone arrives
The new BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone, launched in South Africa late last week, is currently available from MTN and expected to be available from Vodacom soon.
The new phone offers high-end communications and multimedia features in a compact and highly refined design for both professional and personal use.
It features support for 3G networks around the world, a 624 MHz processor, 256 MB Flash memory, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, a 3.2 MP camera and a sharp display. It has a touch-sensitive trackpad and fretted keyboard. The dark chrome frame and leatherette back add to the phone's look, while the narrow profile, balanced weight and soft-touch sides allow for comfort.
"It builds on the success of the original model with new, top-of-the-line features in a smaller and lighter design," said Deon Liebenberg, regional director for Sub-Sahara Africa at Research In Motion.
