Global Alliance launches innovative communication management software

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (GA) has signed a three-year agreement with Digital Management AG of Switzerland (DM) to jointly market a state-of-the-art information and communication management tool, designed exclusively for the public relations profession.

The new software solution will be launched in June of 2005. It consists firstly of a planning, implementation and evaluation tool for aligning short, middle and long-range strategies. Secondly, an 'evergreen' database supports the software with information, definitions, case studies and best practices. The software is very intuitive, agile and powerful. It allows for the preparation and implementation of integrated communication strategies, plans, and budgets as well as evaluation of outcomes.

The agreement calls for joint marketing of the software through the GA organizations in return for free access to the DM knowledge base through the GA web site. The software knowledge base has been reviewed by several GA members world-wide. The GA will also earn commission for future sales through the GA partner organizations. In return the GA will confer 'preferred supplier' status on Digital Management AG.

"Disseminating global knowledge in public relations is a priority for the GA. By taking leadership on this issue, the Global Alliance is offering PR professionals a unique solution which integrates research and practice," said Jean Valin, Chair of the Global Alliance. Gerhard Bütschi, CEO of Digital Management AG, stated that: "The software is the result of years of research during which we analyzed best practices and documented the best planning tools in use by top professionals. We are very proud of the endorsement by an organization as prestigious as the Global Alliance."

The Global Alliance mission is to unify the public relations profession, add value to the membership by giving members access to global resources and to be an advocate for the professional practice of public relations.

Formally established in 2000, the Global Alliance www.globalpr.org is composed of over 55 member organizations, representing more than 150 000 individuals. Its mission is to enhance the public relations profession and its practitioners throughout the world. The Alliance aims to provide a forum to share ideas and best practice, seek common interests and standards, and provide a better understanding of the unique aspects of each culture in which practitioners operate.
