Call for advisors for the BWASA Succeed campaign

Statistics show that 50% of all new companies registered fail within the first two years and, in an effort to change this, the Businesswoman's Association (BWA) have launched the Succeed Campaign to advise new businesses on business issues such as cash flow, employment, forecasts and implementation. The BWA aims to increase the percentage of women-owned companies that remain in business.

"It is for this reason that we are asking for volunteers to give of their time and experience to participate in this worthwhile project. The BWA Mentoring Committee initiates and oversees meaningful mentoring sessions that uplift and empower professional women," says Sandy Pullinger, a member of the BWA Mentoring Committee.

As an association and with over 2000 members, including entrepreneurs, professionals and senior decision-makers, the BWA serves professional and entrepreneurial women in the 'start-up' arena where the women, supported by the BWA, are controlling shareholders in a young company. Criteria apply.

For women taking part in the Succeed Campaign, the BWA is facilitating the assembly of a 12-month advisory team that offers the following: quarterly access to competencies for the business that she may not already have; operational decision-making support for addressing business problems and challenges; and a mini-scorecard to track business success (financial, internal, people and learning measures).
