Amy Kleinhans-Curd, former Miss South Africa and director of Dial A Teacher, an organisation that assists students telephonically with their homework and research, is encouraging nominations in the education category of the Shoprite Checkers / SABC 2 Woman of the Year Award.

The award is celebrating its 13th anniversary as a major initiative for National Women's Day and pays tribute to the most exceptional and achieving women in the country who have not only achieved success in their own respective fields but who have made a tangible difference in communities and society as a whole.
Each of the seven category winners will receive R10 000 and the overall winner will receive R30 000. Closing date for entries is Friday, 9 May 2008.
