Polish Embassy media briefing: Potential for SA-Poland trade

The Polish Embassy will be hosting a media breakfast today, Wednesday 9 March 2011 in Houghton to present the role Poland can play in creating a sustainable trade relationship with South Africa. Poland has an untapped production, manufacturing and human resource capability that would allow for the further development of this dynamic trade link between the two countries.
Polish Embassy media briefing: Potential for SA-Poland trade

Auto parts manufacture is an important branch of Poland's automotive sector. According to the 2008 data (Frost&Sullivan and PAliZ report), the parts manufacturers employed more than 108 000 people, which constitutes 81% of total employment in the sector. This figure does not include, of course, the parts distributors, retail stores and garages. The sector has an abundance of production facilities and expert skills to accommodate even the most demanding of South Africa's requirements.

"Poland is a country of great opportunities, with considerable economic potential and stable democracy. In terms of population and economy, Poland is the sixth largest member of the European Union. We would like to introduce a mutually beneficial relationship with South Africa in the automotive sector as well as other trade and industry sectors," says Slawomir Sonarski the First Secretary of Trade and Investment promotion section at the Polish Embassy.
