Building supply franchise opens in Witbank

Franchise owner Silos Nkonyane has formulated a strategy, based on direct consultation with contractors and developers, to supply the market with quality finishes.

The product range includes paints, taps, lights, bathroom accessories, tiles, ironmongery and flooring material.

Nkonyane and his team are aware of the high level of competition amongst service providers and product suppliers in this market space.

“We are establishing the business at the right time. In addition to site visits, we will communicate directly with contractors and developers through print media and non-print media in order to secure competitive advantage,” says Nkonyane.

This branch is the latest in a string of seven recent launches by Pick & Build Franchise Holdings including Durban, Humansdorp, Lydenburg, Middelburg, Montana, Pretoria East and Randburg.

According to Nkonyane, it reinforces a general perception amongst would-be entrepreneurs of small-to-medium sized operations that the development and construction markets are still lucrative and hold much in the way of potential despite growth having been moderated by economic conditions.

"We take a longer term view on the market and are positioning ourselves for the renewed growth phase expected from 2009 onwards.

“There is a great deal of investment being made in building construction and development and hence the increase in focus on franchise business to meet the demand,” he adds.

As is the case with other franchisees, Nkonyane is confident of the positive impact the Pick & Build product range and support from its branch will have on development within the area.

“We are supplying a focussed range of high quality products, formulated to enable developers and contractors to add value to their specific markets,” he says

Pick & Build Witbank is situated at shop 2, Opperman Street, Mobifa Centre in Klipfontein, Witbank, and is open from 8am - 5pm during weekdays and from 8am - 12.30pm on Saturdays.

The branch is established under Pick & Build Franchise Holdings, part of the Real Africa Group, a national operator and marketer of franchise brands throughout the country.
