    Successful inaugural Dogstar Awards

    Industry members who attended the Dogstar Awards staged for the first time on Saturday 16 August in Cape Town applauded the event for acknowledging the contribution made by the commercials production industry.

    Close on 300 people attended the awards ceremony to pay tribute to the high standard of local commercial production which has firmly established South Africa as a world-class industry.

    More than 120 commercials made in the period January 2001 to January 2003 were entered into the Dogstar Awards which were divided into two sections: Made For South Africa and Made By South Africa. Terraplane triumphed with its I Am Beat commercial for Metro FM by winning the Canis Major Award in Made For South Africa. The Canis Major was won in the Made By South Africa section by The Shooting Gallery for The Fan.
