Elle selects talented new make-up artist
Payendee, who studied at Beautico, will go forward as the Max Factor ambassador representing the brand at all their events, road shows and in the media for the year ahead. As part of her prize, in addition to assisting on Elle magazine on fashion and beauty shoots, Payendee will also travel to the annual global Max Factor conference. She also received a full make-up kit from Max Factor valued at approximately R18 000.
The two runners up, Candisty Lundall and Tennille Taylor from Cape Town and Pretoria respectively, each received a make-up kit from Max Factor valued at R8 000 and a year's subscription to Elle magazine. Acclaimed South African make-up artist Carl Isaacs, one of this year's judges, has offered all three winners the invaluable opportunity for him to mentor them by means of an internship.
The judging panel consisted of Isaacs, Elle beauty editor Lynette Botha, Elle fashion director Chris Viljoen and Clicks Beauty Category brand manager Thea Gutherie.
Payendee, whose Eco Glam look placed her in pole position, drew her inspiration from nature, which she used to highlight that women are increasingly aware of ecological issues. "I have always had a love affair with the make-up industry, winning the competition is the platform I needed to pursue my goals in this fast paced industry," says Payendee.
