In #FreshOnTheShelf, we round up some of our favourite food and beverage products that have hit the retail shelves recently.

Carrol Boyes chocolates

First there was tableware and home decor, then there was wine, and now well-known product designer Carrol Boyes has extended her brand to include chocolates.

The recently launched Carrol Boyes range of confectionery includes milk and dark chocolate varieties, and boasts the distinguishable design aesthetic that has made Carrol Boyes and a household name.

Checkers Bella Vita pizza

Checkers has launched a new range of attractively-packaged gourmet pizzas called Bella Vita. Made with Italian flour and fermented to create the perfect sourdough, the dough is then hand-stretched and stone baked, resulting in a crisp ciabatta crust.

In terms of toppings, you have the option of six variations:

The Americano: a cheeseburger stack of BBQ beef mince, gherkins and red onions, drizzled with tomato sauce and mustard.

The Oh My Cheese: a cheesy sensation of mozzarella, white cheddar, pecorino and feta with a fresh tomato and garlic sauce.
The Tuxedo: a gourmet delight of cream cheese with balsamic onions, bacon and feta.

The Fresco Caprese: an Italian favourite with roasted cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, white cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

The A-Mayo-Nazing: a rich and creamy speciality of chicken mayonnaise and a duo of cheddar cheese.

The Mexicano: a fiery fiesta of spicy chicken, jalapenos, black beans, corn, spring onions and a drizzle of sour cream.

Good Heart's on-the-go chips

KD Foods has expanded into the health food category with its Good Heart brand. The opening line of Good Hearts products comprises a range of healthy, on-the-go snacking chips which are GMO-free, preservative free and high in fibre.

Coconut Chips: Made using coconuts and sea salt, Good Hearts’ Coconut Chip range is extra crispy and Low GI. In addition to the Original flavour, they're also available in Salted Caramel, Salt and Vinegar and Chocolate.

Freeze Dried Chips: The Freeze Dried Fruit Chips are a lightweight snack option made from real fruit. They're fat-free and gluten-free, and come in a variety of flavours including strawberry, banana and fig.

Brown Rice Chips: Made with whole grain rice and olive oil, the Brown Rice Chips have 50% less fat than regular potato chips. GMO, MSG and preservative-free, they're available in flavours that include Sour Cream and Onion, Cheese, Barbecue and Sweet Tomato and Herb.

Seaweed Chips: The oven baked Seaweed Chips are pleasantly crunchy thanks to a combination of seaweed, almond and sesame seed. These seaweed chips are a source of vitamins A and C as well as antioxidants, ideal for guilt-free snacking throughout the day.

Good Heart is partnered with Feed SA, so a percentage of every packet of chips sold is donated goes towards feeding a hungry child.

Angels Tears Rosé

Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek has released Angels Tears Rosé, a new everyday summery quaffer that's easy on the palate and made using seasonal berries.

Made primarily of Pinotage and Shiraz grapes, the fruity rosé is said to boast upfront flavours of strawberries, raspberries and cherries. It's described as lively, crisp and dry with a refreshing, fruity finish.
