The 21 finalists from Spain, France, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Australia and South Korea were selected from 390 project submissions from 38 countries. They will each present their projects at MIPTV during live pitch sessions, proposed this year by the competition's partners: the BBC, the Korean Communications Commission (KCC), the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), OgilvyInteractive Worldwide and for the first time, MSN.

The prizes will be awarded by a jury of professionals from audiovisual, digital and advertising backgrounds. Each winner will receive a financing package to develop their project.

New this year, the Gulf Cooperation Council Joint Program Production Institution (GCCJPPI) will be joining TF1 as official sponsor of Content 360. The GCCJPPI is considered the ‘media information house' of the six Arabic countries that form the Gulf Cooperation Council. “Through its contribution in sponsoring the Content 360 competition, the GCCJPPI looks to confirm the interest of the Gulf countries in encouraging creative people all over the world to present innovative ideas and financing them, also to distribute the winning projects that are expected to perform next year,” says Abdul Mohsen Al Bannai, GCCJPPI executive director.

Niklas Savander, executive vice president, services, Nokia, will give the mobile media keynote at MIPTV 2009. The title of his address will be “Social Location is Changing Digital Consumption Habits” and it will be delivered on Wednesday 1 April and will focus on how social connections and location are changing consumer digital consumption patterns.

Also present at the event will be actor and executive producer William Petersen, who played one of the most memorable and compelling characters in television over the past decade with his portrayal of lead investigator Gil Grissom in the hit US series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” He will be addressing a press conference on the hit show on Tuesday, 31 March at 11 a.m. in the Hotel Majestic.

The winners in each category will be announced on Wednesday 1 April during the Zapping Show ceremony, hosted by British TV presenter Ray Cokes.
