    Designer sandcastle going going gone...

The largest sandcastle in South Africa, being built in Plettenburg Bay by international sand sculpting champions, is to be auctioned online at Aucor.com with the winning bid going to charity.

A team of international world champion sand sculptors, commissioned by FNB HomeLoans, will build South Africa's biggest sand castle in Plettenberg Bay between 17 December and 23 December. The elaborate sculpture is currently being auctioned on leading online auction website, Aucor.com, in conjunction with media partner, 5fm. The winning bid will be donated to two non-profit Plettenberg Bay charity organisations including Masizame Children's Shelter (a street children's project) and Born in Africa (an after-school care programme for underprivileged children).

"We are proud to be part of such a unique project for two very worthy causes," says Brian Winterstein, director, Aucor.com. "We are sure that our loyal registered buyers as well as South African holiday makers will readily support FNB, Aucor.com and 5fm's efforts to raise the most money possible," he says.

The sand castle will be built on Beacon Isle/Central Beach, in the heart of Plettenberg Bay. Interested bidders can place their bids at www.aucor.com before 22 December, 12:00 midday.

The title deed to the sand castle will be presented to the winning bidder during a media function on site in Plettenberg Bay on Monday, 23 December at 10:30am.

The world champion sand sculptors hail from the USA and currently hold a record in Guinness Book of Records for the tallest hand-built sand sculpture.
