'Party Magic', Media24's Creative Living Magazine division's party cookbook, scooped three awards at the international Gourmand World Cookbook Awards held in Madrid. The book, published by Tafelberg, is based on the popular Stork-sponsored children's party series in Woman's Value and dit magazines and won the Best Food Book for Children and Family; Best Corporate Book and Best Entertaining Cookbook categories.
The 10th Gourmand World Cookbook Awards received 6000 entries from 65 countries. The jury commented that "South Africa has become a high-level international culinary destination, centering on Cape Town, with a bounty of both great chefs and authors."
The book will compete with the other international winners for the big prize, the "Best in the World", during May this year.
According to Creative Living Magazine's publisher Terena le Roux, the book contains illustrated step-by-step instructions for 25 party themes, with instructions for delicious party cakes, and tips for planning successful children's parties for all ages - from invitations to food, costumes and games. And a bonus selection of quick and easy recipes for adult teas ensures that the grown-ups are also well catered for.
Le Roux said she was extremely proud to have scooped three awards in what is acknowledged as one of the premier competitions worldwide and "confirms our rightful place alongside the best of the best".
Creative Living Magazines has also successfully published No-fuss Food and the Complete Home Makeover book.
