The cancelation follows the authority's consideration of the representations received following the notice of its intention to amend some frequencies for SABC's 5FM and Radio 2000 in Western Cape and Gauteng respectively. Though the decision has not been taken yet on the matter, the amendment would have resulted in the SABC having to migrate its current low power gap-filler sound broadcasting services transmitter sites to the new frequencies.
The media briefing is rescheduled to Wednesday 14 December, 10am-11am, at the ICASA head office in Sandton.
