ICASA Spectrum regulation workshop precedes association merger
The Communications Regulators Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) and Southern African Postal Regulators Association (SAPRA) will merge as organisations at the joint AGM from 31 March 2011 to 1 April 2011 at the Birchwood Conference Centre, Gauteng.
This AGM will be preceded by a Spectrum regulation and management workshop, hosted by ICASA, at the same venue from 24-25 March. The workshop aims to bring about the understanding of modern models of spectrum management and debate whether SADC should further liberalise the spectrum markets. It will provide a platform for debates around the new role of the ICT regulator regarding management and allocation of spectrum.
The first day will focus on streamlining regulation for efficient spectrum use while the last day will focus on pricing and trading of spectrum.
