Qunta resigns from SABC board

BREAKING NEWS: Christine Qunta has resigned from the position of director and deputy chairperson of the board and all other structures at the SABC, the national broadcaster announced in a brief statement this afternoon, Wednesday, 25 March 2009. The resignation will be effective 1 April.

According to the statement, a resignation letter was forwarded to the shareholder of the SABC (Minister for the Department of Communications) this morning. No reasons were given for the resignation.
