Stephen Wrottesley dies after car crash
It's believed that before the accident he suffered a heart attack while driving.
Wrottesley achieved renown as a top crime reporter with the Cape Argus and is a past winner of the Stellenbosch Farmers' Winery Journalism Award for his reporting on illegal whaling.
Having been Cape Argus' news editor for more than seven years he moved on to become the chief of staff for Independent Newspapers Cape. He was instrumental in the formation of the SA National Editors' Forum and was a member of its executive committee for a number of years.
Stephen Wrottesley died at the age of 47. He is survived by his mother, Lady Wrottesley, his wife Roz, and his daughters Alexandra and Stephanie.
