IMC hosts Indian media

Six senior Indian journalists are visiting South Africa at present, hosted by the International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC), custodian of brand South Africa. Says Yvonne Johnston, CEO of the IMC: “It is surprising that South Africa does not get much coverage in the Indian media despite the fact that South Africa has a sizeable Indian population and the two countries are also involved in a number of successful mutual investment projects.”

“The purpose of this trip is to expose these journalists to South African arts, culture, the economy, its politics, the people and the local way of life. We are certain that this media tour will lead to increased positive coverage of South Africa in the Indian media.

“It will also help to boost trade, investment and tourism.”

The six are visiting Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. They represent leading newspapers and magazines across India.
