SABC to elaborate on SANEF issues

The South African National Editors' Forum (SANEF) earlier this week met with a delegation from the SABC in Johannesburg to discuss the contents of the August 31 letter that SABC Group CEO and Editor-in-Chief Dali Mpofu had sent to SANEF.

At the meeting, held on Monday 17 September, SANEF responded to the contents of the letter from Mpofu. After deliberations, the meeting agreed that the SABC would elaborate in writing on the four key substantive issues that it identified as being at the root of the problem between the two organisations.

The delegations agreed to meet again for SANEF to respond and for the parties to work towards a possible resolution of these issues and hopefully a normalisation of relations in the future.

The delegations were led by SANEF chairperson Jovial Rantao and Mpofu. The SANEF delegation was made up of Rantao, Mary Papayya, Mathatha Tsedu and Femida Mehtar. The SABC delegation consisted of Mpofu, Charlotte Mampane, Robin Nicholson, Phumelele Ntombela-Nzimande, Mvuzo Mbebe and Thami Ntenteni.
