A panel consisting of top names in South African media and mental health professionals will judge entries, which have to be in by 12 October 2015.
Journalists are not required to leave their employment during their award year and are encouraged to choose timely projects that will educate the public and raise awareness about important mental health concerns.
Over the last five years, these awards have gone a long way in enabling and encouraging South African media to engage with their readers/listeners/viewers on understanding what is a rapidly growing illness. Last year's awardees surpassed expectations, with over 35 articles and documentaries published in major newspapers and on eNCA under the banner of Pfizer Mental Health Journalism Awards.
