Enter 2014 Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards now

The 2014 Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards are now open for entries, with the closing date set at Friday 14 February 2014. The Print and Digital Media South Africa (PDMSA) is calling newspaper print and online journalists to enter up to a maximum of three entries.

Ingrid Louw, chief executive at PDMSA says, "We are particularly excited about the 2014 awards competition, as they coincide with our country's 20 years of democracy and consequently the freedom of the press in South Africa."

The PDMSA believes that the 2014 Awards will also serve as a tribute to the many fallen journalists that dedicated their lives to ensuring South Africa's story was told. "Our freedom could not have been possible without the courageous and committed journalists we have in this country and we encourage all journalists to enter the competition in celebration of our achievements as a free society."
