Branding freshens up with Cup excitement

Given the volumes of visitors, many brands are sprucing up visually even in areas that do not directly influence sport - motor oil and fruit and vegetables.

The German motor oil brand, LIQUI MOLY will run a billboard advertising campaign during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in most host cities across 17 giant billboards. It is the first billboard campaign of the brand in South Africa and the billboards can be seen until end of July in Nelspruit, Cape Town, Pretoria, Midrand, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Rustenburg, and Durban.

Fruit & Veg City has launched its Homegrown campaign ahead of the World Cup. Executed across all communications channels, the campaign brings a new look and feel to the television and radio advertisements, as well as in-store and point of sale displays. The re-brand was handled by Cape-based specialist food and retail advertising agency, Hamilton's Advertising. In addition to product television advertisements, the agency has also produced an advertising first for the retailer, a 60-second advertisement currently being broadcasted across Ster-Kinekor cinemas countywide.
