TBWA world's 'most awarded agency network'

TBWA Worldwide has been named the 'most awarded agency network in the world' for 2005 by the Gunn Report, which combines the winners' lists of the top advertising awards globally (34 in TV and 21 in print) to establish annual worldwide league tables for the advertising industry.

"It has been a remarkable year for TBWA agencies worldwide," said John Hunt, TBWA Worldwide Creative Director, "with our agencies all around the globe producing memorable work - this, of course, more than justifies the results of the Gunn Report."

Donald Gunn notes in the report that "2005 has been a bit of a milestone year for TBWA", with five agencies in the world's top 20, including TBWA\Paris (2nd), 180 Amsterdam (180\TBWA) (9th), TBWA\Chiat\Day, San Francisco (10th) and Creative Juice\G1, Bangkok and TBWA in London (tied at 19th).

Jean-Marie Dru, President and CEO TBWA Worldwide, noted, "This is a terrific accomplishment for TBWA. What is truly gratifying is that so many offices from so many countries working with so many of our clients contributed to our success."

A total of 15 TBWA offices also made the top 50, including TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, Johannesburg. "It's very gratifying to see TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris re-establish itself at the top, after reaping 61 Loerie Awards and heading the Creative Circle Agency list," Hunt commented. "This success can be ascribed to the Group's collective belief in creativity that demonstrably works for our clients, versus creativity for the sake of it."

According to Hunt, "it takes two to tango, so much of the credit must go to our clients. In the end, it's not about us; it's about how we can help build their brands".
