SA Tourism campaign a finalist in European awards
Starcom's National Graphic media campaign for SA Tourism has been named a finalist in the Best Travel / Leisure category of the Media & Marketing Awards. Europe's leading marketing magazine, Media & Marketing has been running these awards for the past 15 years.
With the core focus on international campaigns, this year's awards attracted some 200 entries. In the Best Travel / Leisure category, four finalists will compete for the coveted award to be announced on 15 September. Finalists include:
BA: 'Destination London'
Six Flags Holland: 'Roller Coaster Challenge'
Tourism Australia: 'A Different Light'
SA Tourism: 'National Geographic'
The SA Tourism campaign uses professional video footage in the form of 60 second vignettes as well as photographs taken by leading National Geographic cameramen and photographers to show some of South Africa's unique offerings. Starcom handled all media negotiations whilst The Agency was responsible for the production of the campaign.
Says Terry Naude, Starcom Media Director: SA Tourism: "It is extremely rewarding to be recognised by such a prestigious international award. The competition is tough, so if we win the award on 15 September we'll definitely be popping a champagne cork or two."
