As there seems to be a lack of understanding of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and its impact on Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (ASA) members, the ASA has produced a document detailing South Africa's regulatory framework on advertising.
It covers the nature of regulatory environment in South Africa, self-regulation, legislation affecting its mandate, the CPA and recommendations.
