Associations get into 2011

The Advertising Media Association of Southern Africa (AMASA) has opened entries for the 2011 Roger Garlick award and the Association for Communication & Advertising (ACA) will hold its 63rd AGM on 1 December 2010 so its members can recommit to the industry's MAC SA Charter for transformation and push for its incorporation into law in 2011.

"At this year's AGM, members will recommit to our industry's charter by signing a ceremonial poster to be presented to government as part of the industry's efforts to have the charter (gazetted in August 2008) written into law," says Odette van der Haar, CEO of the association. "By signing it, we are demonstrating that we are very serious about transformation and dedicated to the principles, targets and objectives outlined in the charter."

The AGM will take place at the national monument Glenshiel in Westcliff, Johannesburg, in keeping with the association's use of a historical venue for each AGM.
