Business Times Careers Advertising Awards 2001 Winners

Advertex, a relative newcomer to the competition, also took five firsts out of the twelve categories, as well as three second-place awards. Debra Stevens, Vertex director, says that the objective of a good recruitment ad is to turn ad response into successful appointments: "A good recruitment ad should sell the employing organisation to the job-seeker, with a warm and inviting style rather than a clinical and purely factual style."

The judges for this year's awards were: John Farquhar (editor in chief, Advantage Magazine), Cathy Pistano (Print Media SA), Noma Sims (managing director, Zanusi Brand Solutions) and Sibusiso Nyembe (recruitment specialist).
