The Jupiter Drawing Room Jhb increases BEE

Not only has The Jupiter Drawing Room (Johannesburg) officially increased its black ownership from 26% to 56%, Mohale Ralebitso, previously marketing director at Liberty, is the new executive deputy chairman.

Twenty six percent of The Jupiter Drawing Room (Johannesburg) has been owned by Given Mkhari and Simphiwe Mdlalose (MSG Afrika Investment Holdings) since 2004. Ralebitso joins them as a joint shareholder in a new vehicle, MSG Rimani*, which now owns a combined 56% stake of The Jupiter Drawing Room (Johannesburg). The balance of 44% will remain in the hands of the founding partners.

A former group development director of TBWA/South Africa, Ralebitso says he is excited about the deal. "It's great to return to my roots as a shareholder and operational director in South Africa's most prestigious local and black-owned agency. With due credit for Jupiter's accomplishments to date, I have a strong sense that the best is yet to come."

Renee Silverstone, The Jupiter Drawing Room (Johannesburg)'s CEO, says, "We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have found the right partners. Given, Simphiwe and Mohale are true kindred spirits. They believe in the values of our company and our quest to produce the best possible work for our clients. MSG Rimani, has an important role to play in helping us grow the business and be truly relevant to our market."
