Loeries close online bookings
The Loerie Awards online accommodation and travel bookings will close on 6 September because of the high volume of bookings received for this year's events in Margate. Bookings after this date will be handled by local vendors.
Managing director of The Loerie Awards, Andrew Human, says that the industry's response to the online accommodation and travel booking facility has been phenomenal and that the bulk of the accommodation made available has been sold out: "In addition, many of the special discounted Kulula flights have been sold out and we are negotiating with our partner to determine if they can make more flights available.
"On behalf of the Chairperson and the committee of The Loerie Awards, I would like to thank the industry for responding so well to our new direction and for putting their support behind Margate this year.
"All accommodation requests that we have received can now be allocated and confirmed. The reason we did not confirm bookings instantaneously was because we wanted to ensure a fair and representative spread throughout the industry, instead of allowing just a few large groups to dominate individual venues.
"Further good news is that through our partnership with Kulula, we have managed to secure a fantastic offer on car rentals and chauffeur drives from Imperial Car Rental, Kulula's sole vehicle mobility partner. Details will be issued shortly."
Tickets for both awards ceremonies are almost sold out, so if you haven't booked yours yet, visit www.theloerieawards.co.za.
