14 10th Street Productions doing post on The Pure Monate Show
Having been commissioned by SABC 1 to Virtual Productions for its second season, "The Pure Monate Show" (PMS) is back on our screens in its usual Friday night 10pm slot.
The post-production, on this widely popular show is being facilitated by the young dynamic post-production company 14 10th Street Productions.
Armed with two of the most dangerously talented editors in Johannesburg, Tongai Furusa and Neo "Snyman" Mayephu, their energy and vibe permeates directly into each and every skit.
After graduating from AFDA with an Honours degree in Motion Picture Medium in 2001, Tongai Furusa, founder and head editor of 14 10th Street Productions, gained his invaluable experience of the film industry when he joined Devereux Harris and Associates as the head editor, working on an array of productions.
He is thrilled and excited to work on this project - he feels confident that this season of "The Pure Monate Show" will set the precedence for all other locally produced television shows and that PMS is exactly what 14 10th Street Productions needs in showcasing, not only the skills of the editors, but the entire resources and infrastructure of the company. He says that he established the company as an accessible, cost - effective yet professional place/space for all filmmakers to create world -class productions.
"Not only is it important to invest in the equipment, but in people as well" - this is what prompted him to join forces with technical guru and up and coming online expert Neo Mayephu on this particular project. Mayephu's vast knowledge of post-production is taken from a firm foundation of working at the Film Lab and a Commercials Production Company. Earlier this year, he spent two months acquiring and honing his online skills on the SABC 1 youth drama, "Yizo Yizo"
The company has been operating from 44 Stanley Avenue in Milpark as of late last year, and Furusa has been the creative editor on music and corporate videos, documentaries, DV8's "Max and Mona" trailer and recently completed the 3 - part mini series, "Homecoming".
"I may sound clichéd but, it's what we have today that will inevitably create our future."
