LONDON, UK: Media Tenor and the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) recently announced the results of Peace & the Media, the first study into the accuracy of international TV news programmes with regards to violence, conflict and peace issues. The study reveals that while a majority of broadcasters present an accurate view of violence levels*, key UK and US broadcasters devote more than 50% of their time to topics of violence.

For 2010, GfK Retail and Technology is forecasting sales of 141 million digital cameras, which even represents an increase on the high levels seen in 2008. SINGAPORE: BuzzCity, the global mobile media company, on 6 July 2010 released the results of its Global Mobile Advertising Index for Q2 2010, with South Africa in fourth place, sporting an impressive 65% increase in ad banners served, while Kenya reported a massive 243% increase for the period. The Kenya growth, while impressive was the third largest growth percentage after Vietnam, which reported a 273% increase. Meanwhile Ghana showed a massive 654% growth rate, although it was off a low base.
