From packaging to food processing: Explore more at Propak Cape

Looking for new machinery, better ways to package and process products, or technologies that could improve production? Propak Cape 2026 brings more than 200 local and international exhibitors together under one roof, giving visitors the opportunity to see equipment in action, compare solutions and speak directly to the suppliers behind them.
From packaging to food processing: Explore more at Propak Cape

Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 27 to 29 October, the exhibition spans packaging, plastics, printing, labelling, food processing and related industries. From new machinery and packaging materials to automation and production technologies, visitors can explore options for their business, discover developments beyond their usual field of interest and gather insights to inform their next decisions.

See new machinery and technologies

Busch Vacuum Solutions will launch its new Busch R5 KD0050 oil rotary vane pump, designed for tabletop packaging machines, as well as the new KL pumps, which combine a compact size and high performance. Visitors can also experience the new Busch Vacuum Manager – PC software developed for Busch Ecotorque products, providing a clear, guided interface that simplifies commissioning, monitoring and optimising of Ecotorque-equipped vacuum solutions.

Qualipak will introduce its new Spiral Incline/Decline Conveyor with side drive technology for ease of maintenance and minimised belt stress; Filmatic Packaging Systems will unveil its newly developed labelling machine; and Molenaar will showcase its recently launched tunnel pasteurisation technology with Dynamic PU Control, designed for the cider and beer industry.

Live demonstrations will provide opportunities to see equipment in operation. Monitor Engineering – with Spraying Systems spray technology – will demonstrate tank cleaning technology in action, showing efficient, hygienic and resource-saving results. Spray technology also supports food-processing applications including coating, spray drying, cleaning and lubrication.

Advanced Packaging Technology will run live demonstrations of LMC's LM650 and LM505 horizontal flow wrapping machines during the exhibition. Visitors can also explore BW Converting's Hudson-Sharp bag and pouch-making machinery, including the Inno-Lok, Ares and Apollo series, alongside Pearl Technologies' ancillary equipment and punching systems, and LaserPin's laser and mechanical systems.

Explore packaging, materials and automation solutions

Resilux will showcase PET bottle solutions for the beverage market, including oxygen barriers, CO2 barriers, UV and light barriers, and hot-fill and refill solutions designed to keep beverage products protected and maintain taste.

Visitors can explore the strategic partnership between Bizerba Southern Africa and Avocet Scales & Labels, combining Bizerba's weighing, labelling and retail software expertise with Avocet's local market knowledge, national footprint and service capability. Their offering brings together cloud-enabled technology, AI-driven object recognition and connected scale platforms with local expertise and support.

For pharmaceutical and cosmetics applications, Starrate Healthcare will exhibit innovative spray delivery systems designed to enhance dosing precision, performance and reliability. Starrate is also the exclusive South African representative of Advent Chembio, an international manufacturer of fine chemicals, pharmaceutical impurities, laboratory reagents, reference standards and specialty chemicals for the pharmaceutical, healthcare, research and laboratory sectors.

At Adroit Technologies, visitors can explore Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation technologies, including MELSEC PLCs, GOT HMIs, FREQROL VSDs, MELSERVO servo and motion control solutions, low-voltage power distribution equipment and energy management technologies. These solutions support high-speed machine control, precise motion, improved energy efficiency and reliable production performance across food, beverage, plastics, printing, labelling and processing applications.

More to discover across the exhibition

Propak Cape incorporates FoodPro, Pro-Plas Expo, Print Expo and Pro-Label Expo, bringing together technologies for packaging, food processing, plastics, printing and labelling. This breadth gives visitors the opportunity to compare products and suppliers, explore solutions beyond their immediate specialisation and discover new approaches to production and operational challenges.

Three theme days – Innovation, Sustainability and Automation – will highlight developments shaping the industry, while the IPSA free-to-attend seminars offer further insights from industry experts. The FTASA Print Excellence Awards and the 2026 Printing SA National Business Leaders Conference also take place in Cape Town while Propak Cape is running, adding to the wider programme of industry events.

“Propak Cape gives visitors the opportunity to step beyond their day-to-day operations, see new technologies first-hand and have direct conversations with suppliers across several industries. Whether they are researching their next machinery purchase, looking for ways to improve efficiency or exploring new packaging and automation possibilities, they can compare options, exchange ideas and make valuable connections in one visit,” says Mark Anderson, portfolio director at Montgomery Group Africa, organisers of the show.
