The way to brand and rebrand

As part of #BrandManagerMonth, I interviewed Yuppiechef's marketing team because for them it's all about teamwork in getting the brand message across. Then Leigh Andrews interviews New Media Publishing's Elmari Rautenbach and Andrew Nunneley on how Ackermans rebranded itself with the February edition of the Ackermans Club magazine. She also chats to Rob Nelson at Reel2Real Interaction about the evolution of digital out-of-home signage and how it guides the shopper path to purchase.

In other news, Tiger Brands appointed Lawrence MacDougall as CEO. He is currently executive vice president and regional president at Mondelez International for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Noel Doyle will continue to serve as acting CEO until MacDougall joins the organisation. And South Africa's online marketplace bidorbuy.co.za announced the addition of Bitcoin as a payment method through its partnership with BitX. For more on how it works and the advantages of enabling bitcoin payments, read Bidorbuy now taking bitcoins.

Lastly, Vincent Hoogduijn, CEO for Media 24's e-commerce division, explains why the slow adoption of e-commerce is more of an offline problem than an online one. "The underlying reason that e-commerce is not growing as fast as it should be in SA is not due to the online experience. Retail is over-developed in SA, and it's not helping e-commerce..."
