SA media worker rearrested in Zim
A South African satellite technician, Abdulla Gaibee, spent a week in a Zimbabwe jail, charged with violating that country's communications laws, according to the Freedom for Expression Institute (FXI). On Friday, 4 April 2008, a Harare court acquitted Gaibee, but he was immediately rearrested and detained.

Call to support Chinese press freedom
PARIS: The World Association of Newspapers (WAN) is asking newspapers world-wide to show their support for press freedom in China by publishing editorials, advertisements, political cartoons and other materials on World Press Freedom Day on 3 May 2008.

IMC hosts Indian media
Six senior Indian journalists are visiting South Africa at present, hosted by the International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC), custodian of brand South Africa.
