Gold winner very accessible
The gold medal winner of Drostdy-Hof from the Decanter World Wine Awards, held at the end of May 2011, is its 2010 Chardonnay, currently available locally at R35 a bottle. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks but given some wood contact to round out the character and contribute to a very attractive toasty finish. The winemaker, Pieter Badenhorst recommends it with seafood, poultry, salads and dishes made with cream.
