CP Music is the brainchild of Countertenor, Violinist, Violist, Pedagogue, and Music Theory Specialist Educator Charl Paulse who's an established teacher and entrepreneur from the Cape Flats, expanding to the rest of the Peninsula since 2007.
The core business is Music Education and Entertainment Agency, with its Academy in Simon's Town and satellite teaching studios in Welcome Estate, Pinelands, Athlone. Our Tutors reach students throughout the country as far as China via our E-Learning platform. The famous CPM "Windtet" formed around 2003 consisting of SACM Alumni Lucinda Abels (Flute), Adrian De Villiers (Violin), Charl Paulse (Viola) and Marvin Bourne (Bassoon) performed as group with over 500 bookings to date. In addition, we also provide traditional String Duos, Trios, Quartets, Quintets and recently established a variety of bands such as Violin/Clarinet/Flute/Oboe & Piano Duos, Violin and Guitar Duos, Flute, Clarinet & Bassoon Trios, Woodwind Quartets amongst other contemporary styles featuring Saxophones and Rhythm sections. CPM caters for music of all genres from as early as 1600 to the latest contemporary cover songs. Apart from regular performances and gigs, our musicians are also recording and session musicians for over a decade. Charl mentions his inspirational grandmother Ms. Agnes Paulse (Voice) who was his first tutor amongst other Leading Professionals in the country such as Dr. May Abrahamse (Opera) from the Eoan Cultural Group, Prof. Jürgen Schwietering (Violin / Viola Performance, Pedagogy & Andragogy), Prof. Martin Watt (Music Theory & Analysis) and Maestro Alex Fokkens (Conducting) from the South African College of Music with great appreciation for their time, philosophical teaching and priceless mentoring invested in him.
