Glencore considering Mutanda options
Glencore said on Friday it was considering its "strategic options" regarding the Mutanda mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
After press enquiries about acquiring a further stake in mine, Glencore said it was considering its strategic options and a further announcement will be made in due course
The Mutanda mine is an open-pit copper and cobalt mine in the DRC's mineral-rich Katanga province.
The mine is a joint venture between Swiss-based Glencore, which has a listing on the JSE, and billionaire Dan Gertler's Fleurette Group.
