Nokia tightens belt another notch

As part of its campaign to cut costs across all of its corporate units, Nokia has announced further layoffs and restructuring plans. Among other things, the No. 1 handset manufacturer intends to place more emphasis on software application development in a bid to counter the increasing popularity of Apple's iPhone.
